Our most frequently asked questions

What is the core industrial value of rutile?

Rutile is the mineral with the highest natural TiO₂ content (90%-98%). Its core uses are in the production of titanium dioxide (for high-grade coatings, plastics, and paper coloring) and sponge titanium (a raw material for titanium alloys). It can also be used to manufacture welding rods, ceramics, and optical glass.

What precautions should be taken when storing and transporting zircon?

Store in a dry, well-ventilated environment to prevent moisture and clumping; during transportation, use waterproof packaging (such as laminated woven bags or ton bags) to avoid rain, and avoid mixing with acidic substances to prevent reactions between mineral components.

Will the radioactivity of monazite affect its use?

The thorium and uranium that are associated with monazite have weak radioactivity and low radiation dose in their natural state, but radioactive shielding treatment is required during processing. The finished product must comply with the national standard for radioactive materials (GB 18871), and compliant products will not cause harm to the human body or the environment.

How hard and wear-resistant is garnet?

Garnet has a Mohs hardness of 7-7.5 and a density of 3.5-4.3 g/cm³. It is highly wear-resistant, tough, and not easily broken. When sandblasted, it can quickly remove oxide scale and rust from the surface of the workpiece without damaging the substrate. It is a high-quality abrasive material that can replace corundum and silica sand.

What are the core industrial uses of kyanite?

Kyanite is a high-alumina mineral (Al₂O₃ content 58%-63%), and its core uses are in the production of high-alumina refractory materials (hot blast stove, blast furnace, cement kiln lining bricks), refractory aggregates for casting, and ceramic raw materials (to enhance the strength and heat resistance of ceramics). It can also be used to manufacture alumina, abrasive materials, etc.

What are the beneficiation processes for titanium concentrate?

The common mineral processing technology is a combined process of "gravity separation + magnetic separation + flotation": first, gravity separation removes a large amount of gangue minerals, then magnetic separation separates magnetic impurities, and finally flotation is used to improve the purity of TiO₂, ultimately obtaining titanium concentrate that meets industrial standards.
